: : Richmond’s Place : :

I got this in my mailbox today. It was a forwarded email.

Hi all,

I am sure those who live in Kuching know where and what Richmond Place is. It is at Ellis Road which is near Central Road. For those of you who seldom frequent that area, Richmond Place is a cafe selling western food.

We just found out that the waiter and waitresses working there have a ritual of INSULTING customers after the customers leave the place. If you are lucky’, you will catch those low people backstabbing you just before you pay the bill; right ALMOST in front of you. This may not be a big matter for most of you but we go around a lot; eat out a lot and discovered that Richmond’s waiters and waitresses really go over the board in demeaning the customers. All the good ones have gone away. You will be shocked if you know what they can actually gossip about you. We are fortunate enough to be within ear shot when it happened. When a waitress realized we noticed her, she pretended to cover her mouth like she’s having flu. What they don’t realize is that they may backstab those customers who have left but those who are still sitting around LISTEN to what they say.

Here are the examples:

i)”Macam potong apa!” (Like cutting what lah!) — A waiter commented on a customer who dropped her fork on her table a few times shortly after she left.

ii)”Order big punya! Dapat habis ke? Nanti, ta pao!” (Order big meal! Can finish meh? Later will takeaway!) — Those customers did not request anything to be ‘ta pao’ at all. Those waitresses just created something out of nothing.

iii)They judge you from head to toe. You can see it in their eyes. (Errr…..was in the email)

There must be more but we pity the Boss who own the place so we don’t want to say much. Rest assured this is just to tell you all out there about Richmond Place’s waiter/waitresses’ rudeness because if you are a person of mood and you want to enjoy your food; you know what to do. We all want value for our money. We pay for food and good service, NOT insults when we leave after giving them MONEY.

For now, those workers are really dark and they are not tall. If you want to check them out, you can go there and do so.

If you by chance know who the Owner of Richmond is, please do well to tell him/her so that he/she can do the right thing before losing customers.

I’m just wondering : why didn’t this irate customer informed the person in charge there? Wouldn’t it have been easier? Then again, I’ve never eaten at Richmond’s Place before so cannot comment. I do see a lot of people going there to eat though so food must be good and affordable.

Why didn’t I go and eat there in the first place? Dunno. Guess I’m a snob when it comes to western dining. Oh well. It’s not easy to run a food establishment anyway.

: : Seattle Coffee : :

After last night’s dinner at the Japanese restaurant, we went for a walk at the Kuching Waterfront to ease our extremely stuffed stomachs. After that, we went for dessert and coffee at Seattle Coffee located at Merdeka Palace. Coffee Bean is not even here yet.

Let’s start with dessert, Left to Right :

We ordered 2 slices of apple pie and 1 cake of the month : chocolate hazelnut cheesecake. Luv the apple pie which is a lot better than the one at Hilton Kuching. The apple pie there tastes like cake! As for the cheesecake, it was huge! Tough for Melvin to finish it.

MayLin and Bev shared the cup of Raspberry Juice mixed with other fruits whereas Melvin and I had a cup of Irish Coffee each. The raspberry drink was nice but the Irish coffee woke me up so much that I couldn’t sleep until 2 am! There were at least 2 shots of Irish whiskey inside it. Had to dilute it with some ice.

Anyway, some pictures of the Kuching Waterfront. Got a bit carried away with the mosaic design on the pathway.
