: : My House : :

No, it’s not literally My House lah. My House is given to the name of a steamboat and BBQ restaurant along Pending Road. I went there at the request of a friend. Had to put this makan session off a few times because of other appointments. So, finally managed to gather a group of makan kakis @ eating pals last Saturday to go and mum-mum!

The place had a very nice ambience to it and it is an open-air restaurant. However, the night was pretty cool and there was a nice breeze blowing. This is a place whereby one can select the ingredients from the buffet spread for the steamboat. If your table numbers 6 people or more, you can ask for two steamboats with different soup stock.

Me, Min Yen, May Lin and Marvin got there late so Jackson and Christina already started boiling the steamboat for us! By the time we reached the place, the soup was ready to eat so we started digging in right away.

Tomyam steamboat : definintely delicious and spicy. With all the various ingredients that we dumped into it, the soup itself was very tasty and had such a variety of flavours to it that it was kind of hard to decide which food was the flavour coming from. We added in a lot of fishballs, black fungus, mushrooms, fish, chicken, tauhu @ soya bean, prawns and other stuff to it.

Since there were 6 of us, we got another steamboat with chicken stock in it. Again, we dumped everything in and again the flavours just burst on our tongues! Wah! A tip to eating steamboat : make sure that after putting in the ingredients, cover the steamboat and wait for it to boil. Once the steam rises from the lid, remove the cover and dig in.

We also added in some Chinese lettuce and tang hoon @ glass noodles to it.

Other than the steamboat, we also had some BBQ side dishes like this great chicken wings. The marinade was great and it was really really tasty. Better than the KFC and Pizzahut Wings any day.

We also had some kebabs as well. It was either chicken or beef so we had both. Both are delicious either way and I can tell you, we had a lot that nite.

We also took some spicy crab to eat as well but I was just plain lazy to dig out the meat and eat it. The others enjoyed it though and they had 2nds and 3rds!

It was a filling eat all you want for RM15 and I found out today that for free flow of soft drinks, it’s RM18 per head! Darn! Oh well, never mind. The next time lor.

My House is located in the Pending area although not in the middle of the industrial estates. It is before the estate but after the Kuching By Pass at Simpang Tiga Roundabout-cum-Flyover.

Would definitely go there again. Cheaper than Garden Steamboat by 50% so that’s enough incentive to go! So GO PEOPLE! If you’re in town, that is. 🙂
