One fine day in 2003, I decided to start a food blog to tease my sister and my mother who were both living in the USA. Somehow, along the way, I ended up feeding a lot of people just via the food pictures that I put up everyday. In 2005, I decided to take a break from blogging and just take it easy. So there were sporadic posts from my travels in the US as well as Germany and England. Now in 2009, I'm trying to pick it up again and start chronicaling my journey towards a better lifestyle that is more healthy than what it currently is right now.

: : Denton, Texas : :

After journeying for 24 hours on the air and waiting 8 hours for layovers, have finally reached Denton, Texas. A very groggy Wena got through Dallas Fort Worth airport to see her sister waiting for her at the baggage claim area. A sight for sore eyes. Can you imagine that we have not seen each other in approximately 3-4 yrs? Long long time. Anyway, it was hugs and kisses at the airport with Wena groaning about the cold and wind.

Dinner was at a Mexican Restaurant called On the Border. It was amazing and we had two dishes. Couldn’t finish them so we took them back to eat. I was so cold that I was eating the leftovers late at night and in the early hours of the morning.

Pictures will be up either later today or tomorrow. Need to get a socket adaptor else the docking station will not work without the download. So, gotta wait for another day for the pictures to come up!

Ciao people!

: : Newark Airport ~ Part II : :

I actually type a whole bunch of stuff to be posted and it just went poof into midair! Choi!

Everyone is so friendly here. Unless, it’s another reason, say, maybe :

Wena looks so lost and forlorn after a 24 hour trip around the world. Urgh!

Wena looks too young to be travelling alone

Wena looks too darn innocent

Wena looks like an interesting person. Hmmm… long story that.

At the moment, the massage bar looks very interesting. Seriously considering to solve my aches and pains. Seriously in bad pain from the long flight from KL to Dubai to Newark. Thinking of sitting in another 3 hr flight to Dallas scares me. Oh well.

Anyway, I’m off people! Ciao! See ya all in Dallas!

Right people, am now at Newark International Airport. Am waiting for the American Airlines connecting flight to Dallas. So, after breakfast and chit chat with Mum and sis, am now waiting for 2 hrs to pass by. And guess what I saw? Free internet surfing courtesy of SONY and Intel.

So, am now using the SONY TR2A Series Notebook with the Intel Centrino chip. First time I saw this laptop, I fell in love with it. So light and cute. 🙂 Very very portable. Would love to try out the Motion Eye VideoCam but can’t get into Messenger via this laptop. Portal doesn’t permit me to do so. Oh well.

Still, the connection is not TOO bad. Bit slow according to the man in charge. Something about having to share the connection with the airports T1 line. Still, it beats the JARING Dialup Connections any day.

Can’t believe the number of people walking by and just not wanting to check out these gadgets. Then again, everyone I see are from the older generation. No one young yet. Maybe the only exhibition is here.

Soon, will be flying off to Dallas and to see my sis! Gawd, I hope the food stuff survives the trip. The bag didn’t quite survive. Urgh!

I just paid RM15 for 75 minutes. Urgh! Oh well! Don’t know when I’ll be here again so it’s pretty much so for fun. I’m just about the *ONLY* asian person online. Everyone else is Caucasion. And phew! The dinner that I had with Koo and Pegs is really rumbling at the moment.

Koo : For all you know, you might be stuck in a snowstorm in New York!

Choi! Spoilsport. 🙁 Ah well, let’s see some blizzards. I’m hoping the airport will be warm.

Now, reply to comments :

Jas : Yes! One woolen sweater that is 20 yrs old! Found it in Granny’s house one fine day. The one that Mum knitted for Uncle Austin before he left for studies in UK. Very nice and warm. Also got Dad’s winter jacket so should be fine. Had to buy an extra bag to put the jackets in so giving this bag to you in return for forgetting your tote bag. Oopps! A red and orange Adidas bag. Looks very nice I thought. Sorry ah!

Dee : I just hope it will not come out burnt of tasteless. Also need to get pass customs with 3 kg of Sarawak laksa and 5 kg of premix stuff. I’m just hoping it doesn’t suddenly leak out in the middle of the air!!!! Plan to make some great tasting bak kut teh @ pork ribs herbal soup for her. Probably some steam boat as well. AIK! Forgot to buy tom yam paste! Oh well. :p

baSv : Pictures of Wena in a winter jacket and sweater? Miss Rolly Polly Chef more like it! Hahahaha!! No offense to Dr. Liew’s nurses. :p

Ariel : I intend to. Hopefully it will be uneventful. Praying hard for no snowstorms lah.

killuminati : At Kim Gary’s? That was way chun lah! Then again, I’m not too much of a fussy eater. Well, for first timer to Hong Kong food, I had a good time.

Ciao people! Gonna check out the duty free shops first. *wink*
